Twelve Days of Christmas, Day Two (sorry, late night): Christmas Lights…

We went to Oglebay Park Resort ( last night. And if you have never been there, it is worth the two hour drive to Wild and Wonderful Wheeling, West Virginia.

We only took Caelan. My dear sister and her dear fiancee were so kind and kept Ellery over night (and the little crapper slept all night, p.s.)
And Caelan had a BLAST. EVERY thing was a new wonder to her. She was in absolute awe over everything and kept clapping and gasping, it was so adorable. She was really loving every minute of it. The look on her face really helped me remember what Christmas is all about-the wonder of the children. She actually wanted to stay there and now wants her birthday party there next year. Her birthday is in July, so that won’t be happening.

Anyway, I recommend the trip. Absolutely. She wants to go back. And we might, we now have a “season pass” to go again as many times as we want before January 8th. We shall see. It is $15 per carload, recommended donation (but you do not have to donate anything, if you don’t have the means) and if you donate $20, you get a DVD of the lights for the season. Of course, we shelled out $20, so Caelan has the DVD to remember her first time to the “Christmas lights park” now.

I will present some highlights for you..

This is my favorite exhibit there. I love it!! No idea why, it reminds me of being a kid and going with my family. 🙂

These lighted hyacinths were ALL over the place and just gorgeous. They sold them there, and I wanted to buy some, but have NO idea what I would do with them….

Ah yes, the old rocking horse. This has been at Oglebay for as long as I can remember. Caelan really liked it. She wants one. Of course she does…lol

We really, really had a good time. She got to pick an ornament from there for the Christmas tree *which still needs ornaments on it, for the record* and I am pretty sure this place is akin to Disney for her as the Happiest Place on Earth.

Have you been to Oglebay? Thoughts? Favorite displays? Any other cool light exhibits you would recommend we check out before the end of the season?

And how does this make you feel?
